Lyric Lane: Fall is Here.....

I took out my summer flowers yesterday and planted a few fall foliage items near the front porch. Both boys wanted to help water in the plants- It was pretty chilly yesterday- about 70 with a strong north wind- so it really felt much cooler- it is so nice- Lyric rides his scooter up and down the sidewalk- but Lane wants to follow his bubba everywhere....so he takes off after Lyric now. We just need to get Lane a little scooter he can ride.
I have a few fall decorations out- not too many because Lane the destroyer will be sure to find a way to get his hands on them. I have a little ring of beads with a ceramic pumpkin candy dish in the center of the counter height dining table. Well- first let me say that the restaurant is almost always closed- or that is the appearance due to the fact that the chairs have to be placed seat down on top of the dining table. I have had to take all the candy out of my little fall-ish ceramic pumpkin candy dish because little hands kept getting into it and leaving peanut butter m&m streaks all over the house. By the way- the chairs on the table thing is almost obsolete as Lane pulled one of the chairs down the other night- I think it scared him pretty good, though- so we may have bought a few more weeks due to the fright factor.
Anyway- the bead ring thing surrounding the pumpkin- Lane climbed onto the table while we were eating dinner last night- he loves hats- especially Jason's ball cap. He was playing with that, then discovered the sparkly orange and green beads that had been under his nose the entire time. He started putting the bead ring on his head- he looked like a little autumn princess. Totally cute.
This morning- he was playing around with Lyric's football helmet. It is so big on him to begin with- but Lane is very unconventional and likes to do things his own way- so he puts the helmet on backwards- he cannot see out since there are no eye holes in the back of the helmet- so he just wanders around bumping into things...walls, dishwasher, kitchen island- but hey- he's safe- he is wearing a helmet after all!

Autumn princess....how sweet....This is a close as Granny will get to a granddaughter- but she doesn't mind....it makes it a little easier with babies this pretty....
