Apples

I had to stop by the store yesterday to get some fruit for Lane's Halloween party at school today. I decided that apples and grapes would be great- so we picked out 3 large honey crisp apples and a big bag of grapes. The pictures below show what the apples looked like when we got to the checkout.

Lane was hungry after school yesterday!

In a (un)related story: My mom took the boys to the dollar store to pick out some toys for a little treat. The checkout woman was of hispanic decent and did not speak much to the kids as she was scanning their toys. When she finally smiled at the boys, it was apparent that she had gold caps on her front teeth....Colin saw these immediately and said: "Gold Teeth?! SWEET!".
I thought it was funny.....maybe you had to be there.

Halloween Morning

OK- here we are- Lane did not want his picture taken this morning- but he is wearing the cutest onesie with Charlie Brown's body on it- Lane's head is supposed to be Charlie Brown's head...totally cute- but you really can't tell. Lyric is a Clone again- on his way to school in the pictures....
Belive me- there will be lots more pictures to come......

All Done!

Lane is talking more and more every day....
Enjoy!

Home Decor

Thought you might like to see some things around the house- I am not a great photographer- so the colors are really light in the pictures- just think warm colors....

This was the inspiration for the wall color in the kitchen- the color is the same as the grapes and dress-thing

Entry way display- the pictures are of each of the boys in guitar cases when they were about 6 weeks old

Picture from Mayfest 2005- the mat is a similar color to the kitchen

mantle at night- hard to see all the colors- but it really is pretty in the evening.

Pickin' Punkins

We stopped by a local pumpkin patch on the way to the zoo yesterday- Lane was very excited- he kept saying "oohh!". It was adorable. We picked out some pumpkins to carve and to display on the mantle- fall is so fun....

Wall Art

This is in Lyric's room.....on his wall....with marker-

The fact that he can spell makes us very happy- you should see GO OU and GO GO OU
Marvelous use of letters, really

Hopefully he knows not to write on the walls now...it was hard to keep a straight face

Birthday Carnival

Heritage Hall is 40 years old this year- so there are lots of celebrations for the whole family all year long. Most recently they held a carnival- games, animals, food, prizes for all students of the school. We took Lane, Lyric, and Colin for a while on Saturday. They all had a great time- Lane was not feeling great so we couldn't stay as long as we wanted- but it was fun while it lasted.....

A Day in the Park

We took the boys to play at the big park on Monday- knowing that it was going to get pretty chilly here for the rest of the week. We had a good time- here are some pictures....

My Umbrella

It is a rainy morning here today- and that makes it hard to get out of bed, get to work, and be productive. Lyric walks to his school from mine everyday- and lately he walks alone- with me watching in the background. Yesterday he was very clingy and needed me to walk with him. Today he wanted me to walk with him, too- but I couldn't due to the fact that my class had already started and I don't have my umbrella today. I told him I couldn't walk with him because it was raining and I didn't have an umbrella- he said "you can share mine". Very sweet- He has a little Sponge Bob umbrella that really won't cover my head- perfect for a preschooler, though.

Another Fast Weekend....

Weekends seem to go by so fast these days....well really...all days seem to go by fast. The boys get cuter and cuter with each passing week- Lane is so much fun- he has the neatest personality- he is so funny, smart, and daredevilish....a pretty entertaining combination. He does not use a lot of words, but he does use lots of sign language- which is adorable- He has started shaking his head vigoroously for no and nodding his head like a heavy metal banger for yes. I will try to get it on video and post it- it is hilarious.
Back to the weekend...Friday was low key- we loaded the boys and went for a bike ride over to Julie's and back. After that was dinner and just some tv. It was a good night. Saturday, Julie and I went to the farmer's market and sold shirts- we were successful- and next week we will have our own tent and table in the market instead of peddling out of the back of the van in the parking lot! Saturday afternoon was filled with football and food- Sunday was a lazy day- the boys helped me plant some pansies in the front flower bed.
Here are the only pictures I have from the weekend- not much to document, really....

The boys in the little Bike buggy- getting ready for the ride.....Lane's first time.

His signature style- 1 arm out through the neck- look for lots of this as the cooler weather approaches.....

My little houdini- he got one of his car seat arm straps off- after that, he got his whole arm out of his sleeve and through the neck of his shirt....he is still pretty, though.....
