Fun on Break

We weren't sick the whole week- we still managed to get in a little fun...We played at Granny's on Tuesday- the boys rode the tractor around the neighborhood. We also went to the zoo one afternoon with Colin and his g-ma, Tina- she was visiting from Pensacola. We played outside a bunch- ate most meals out on the picnic table- which completely reduces my stress levels since I don't have to worry about picking up after Lane. It was an OK break- but now we are back to work- but just for 7 more weeks....that's no big deal!

The Night Before the Illness Struck

Monday of Spring break we went to Tulsa and celebrated Jason's birthday with a family hibachi-style dinner at Tokyo Garden. We love that place! I have not tried any other hibachi-style restaurant, but I am almost certain that none of them are as good as TG. We passed the camera around the 2 tables our family occupied and asked the holders to take self-portraits...That night- we went back to Granny's and that is where we learned that Jason had a fever and an excruciating headache that would later put us in an urgent care facility. The boys seemed fine, but in reality they were just little incubators of the smae virus. Thank goodness my high levels of estrogen and chardonnay were able to ward off the sickness before it could take hold in my cells!

3, 2, 1....Blast Off!

I took the boys to a park in OKC yesterday where they were able to launch some rockets. G-daddy and Memaw bought the rockets for the boys to shoot off. We took some snacks and a blanket and let them run around. It was a little chilly in the wind- but definitely better than the ice and sleet we had just last week. We are really looking forward to Spring Break- going to spend today and tomorrow with family in Tulsa- then back to our house to get a few things accomplished. I will be sure to keep up with the photos so you can keep up with us!

Lane wouldn't leave my side...until Memaw got out the snacks- then she was his new BFF!

Still snackin'- getting some treats from Granddaddy, too.

Boys on the jungle gym...build in the 50's- or at least that what it looked like.

Lane going down the very tall, a little unsafe slide...he loved it!

Jason's birthday party

Saturday night we had a small gathering for Jason's birthday. Lots of food, drinks, and definitely fun! There were a few musicians in the house so there was an awesome jam session- for those a little less musically inclined there was Guitar Hero for the Wii- thanks to Mike and Erica for bringing that over! Happy B-day Hubby!

Stayed up TOO LATE! But it was fun....

Lane's got a little Buddy.....

We had a friend over last week and she brought her youngest son, Asher, with her....Lane always has to run around with the big boys- and he is getting really good at it- but this time- he got to play with someone his own size. They were really cute together....Asher would walk into the living room where we moms were chatting- Lane would come in a little later and say "c'mon baby"- trying to get Asher to follow him to the front room. Simply adorable!

First thing they did was get out all the little balls....

Look at that grin!

Aren't they sooooo cute together? :)

Welcome Home, Sergeant!

Justin is "finally back from Iraq"! He proudly served 4 tours and will soon be out of the Army. He came home to Tulsa today and we were ALL there to greet him- including Channel 6 in Tulsa. A wonderful, emotional homecoming for our hero.

Justin coming off the plane...lots of excitement- we completely surprised him.

Justin and Lyric high fives!

Me and baby Lane- we tried about 12 times to get a good picture- this was the only decent one.

Dinner at the Pink Elephant

We went to Guthrie to have dinner with my parents on Sunday evening. It was the first day of the time change- so there was lot of extra daylight for the kids to play outside. Pair that with unseasonably warm temperatures and you have the fixins for a wonderful early Spring night.

Lyric and Evan being boys...it is really neat that they get to play together in the same place where Julie (Evan's mom) and I spent so much time growing up...

Birthday Bowling

One of Lyric's class mates had her birthday party at Red Pin Bowling Alley in Bricktown. Lane went to Nana's house and Lyric and I headed to the party. It was a neat place- I would like to go back one evening with adults to see what it is really like. One thing Lyric learned is that real life bowling and Wii bowling are nothing like each other. However, he did bowl a 111 his first game. Way to Go!

Can I buy Stock in Zyrtec?

Spring is so close I can almost smell it...except for the fact that there is so much tree pollen in the air my nose is stuffed up. Nevertheless, I love the blooms, the daffodils, and the warmth.
The boys had a little snack outside yesterday- peanut butter fold-over sandwiches. I am happy for warmer weather so they can eat outside- makes clean-up MUCH easier. I love the way that they are starting to interact with one another. Lane apes everything Lyric does- it is precious.
Looking forward to a wonderful, successful weekend.

Must be some wonderful conversation.

I love this picture- It will be one they will love in 30 years....

The Bird Who Ate 100 Worms

The boys were playing outside while I was making their dinner last night...so we decided to just let them eat outside, too. Corn dogs and grapes on the picnic table outside. After dinner, they continued to play- what a wonderful evening.
Lane can now say money...there were some pirate coins in the yard and he was picking them up. He came over to me and showed me 2 coins and said "two monies" then shoved them in his pocket. So sweet. (and he is learning to count!)
Lyric was not feeling well this morning on our way to school- He said his tummy hurt- I asked him what it felt like and this was his reply:
"It feels like a bird that just ate one-hundred worms"
So- I am assuming that means he felt full- but you never know- I will have to ask the next bird I see what it feels like to eat 100 worms....Maybe that will be the title of my next children's book...Nice.

Dinner out back...

Fun Weekend

Man- it was a whirlwind but we all had a good time. Friday night we were in Tulsa- doing some Galvanic Spa demos. Very successful- left lots of people looking more beautiful.....Saturday- had a great breakfast with granny and pa- then headed to Edmond for lunch with granddaddy and memaw. Hung out there for a bit then went to the state fairgrounds to watch Joey- Donna's son- WIN the 6A State wrestling title for his weight class. What a great weekend.
This week is pretty low key- Once again I will TRY to take pictures- February just wasn’t a great month for blogging- here's to a much more productive March!

Me and Aubri looking pretty good- then the two in the back came a long and had to act cool...pretty cute.

Donna and Lyric- I guess the days of Lyric posing normally for pictures are gone.

Me at the matches....
