Snow Days
Tuesday and Wednesday were snow days. Tuesday is was too cold and icy to go outside- but Wednesday was sunny and a little warmer- so we went out to play for a while. Lane loved eating the "ice"....Lyric loved making tracks in the fresh snow. The rode the tractor up and down the sidewalk...it wsa adorable.
The days inside were nice- although I prefer 70 degrees over 15 degrees any day of the week. We watched a lot of TV- played a lot of Wii, colored on paper with markers and crayons, and just spent time together. I returned to work yesterday- and I was not dreading it to say the least.

Boys on the tractor....or snow plow on this day...

Wednesday was the launch party. It was a very successful event- but, I have learned that I would like to keep my demos small and more personal- I like to give everyone as much attention as I can and when there are so many people there- that is just not possible. So....for the next few weeks, I will be meeting with the people that came to the party- individually- just to answer questions and do more demos if they would like to have one.....I can see a beach house in my future...don't worry....you will be invited!

NEW CAMERA!!
Ok- we are back up and running- new camera- looks much like Becky's pink Sony- I will be sure to put my initials on it so we don't get confused....
Here are pictures of the boys haircut on the day that the other camera broke:

We had Julie and her family over on Friday night- we had pizza and watched Igor...well- the kids watched it- we just talked a lot!
Saturday I went to the funeral for my friend Jeff's mother. She passed away last week due to ovarian cancer. She had the cancer for over 10 years- everyday was truly a blessing for her and her family. Jeff is Jen's husband- we went to Florida with them last summer....That evening, Mike and his girlfriend Erica came over, along with Julie and my brother- we had some soup and played wham bam....it was a really nice evening.
Yesterday it was pretty chilly- We just relaxed- watched some movies, played some Mario Kart with Lyric. This week is going to be soooo busy- it was nice to have a few moments yesterday to relax and be together.
Ice is coming today- hopefully it won;t be too bad- My launch party for ageLOC is Wednesday- I am expecting many people and am looking forward to watching my businiess grow this week. I got my first check in the mail last week- it was DOUBLE what I was expecting! My next goal is to have a comma in the amount! This is my month- great things are taking place!
We will keep you posted on the week's events....should be a good one!

Typical Mike

Julie- I really like this picture of her....

Me- we were practicing with a feature on the camera- smile detector(?)

Broken Camera
I took the boys to get haircuts on Tuesday- Lane's first by a "professional"- well- Lyric is usually very careful with the camera- but he was careless and dropped it- it just landed wrong- (on the open lens) and is no longer functioning. So- the good news is I found a camera I want to replace it with- and it doesn't cost a fortune- hopefully by the end of the weekend we will be back up and running.
Tonight we are having Julie and her family over for dinner- we plan on just ordering pizza or something- going to hang out- we haven't seen each other since before Christmas.
Tomorrow is a funeral for my friend's mother-in-law. She passed away last weekend due to ovarian cancer.
Other than that- I am just working hard to keep my head above water- Loads of laundry to wash and floors to mop- guess that is what I will accomplish during my weekend.
Yippee!

Stockyards, Music, and Gymnastics
What do all of these things have in common? Well, these are some of the things that we did over the long weekend. Lane was sick last week, so Granny was here for a few days. She gave me and Jason the chance to go out on Friday night. We took her offer and headed downtown to Mickey Mantles. We had a few drinks, Jason smoked a cigar, and we got to talk to my brother for a while. After that we headed over to the Fox and Hound to meet up with friends Jill and John...there we listened to a guy play guitar. Pretty fun night.
Saturday night, Jason and I met some friends at La Luna for dinner and then headed to the Stockyards to see a show. Jenny's hubby Chad was playing at the Oklahoma Opry- he was very good, and we enjoyed our evening with one another. I think it would be fun to take Granny and Pa to Cattleman's for dinner then over to the Opry for some music- it was right up their alley.
Sunday was a gymnastic b-day party for a boy in Lyric's class. Jason had hockey, so I took both boys to play. Lane had more fun than anyone, I think! Jason's hockey league is in playoffs right now- his team won last week and will probably win this weekend, too- Jason scored 2 goals last weekend- he has scored at least 1 goal in nearly every game this season.
For this week- nothing too eventful- just busy. Once again, I will try to capture some of the moments with my camera....just to keep you posted!!

Winter Tea
I went to Lyric's school this morning for the "Mommy and Me Winter Tea". While there we sang songs, played games, danced, and had wintery snacks. I am very fortunate to be so close to Lyric while he is at school- it makes it so easy to run down and spend time with him in his classroom. He wrote a poem about me, he also described what love means to him. I got to bring home a picure CD, a snowflake placemat made by Lyric, and a card with my picture on it- also made by bubby.
It was a very wonderful morning- we enjoyed our time together.

Picture-LESS
Well- I am having a hard time being inspired to take pictures of the boys this week- so I thought I would entertain you with a couple of updates.
Granny is here- for a few days- Lane has RSV- a respiratory virus that is highly contagious and is usually spread in day cares. It is especially dangerous for kids under the age of 2- so we have Lane at home for the rest of this week. He is getting some good Granny time- although he is cranky beyond measure.
Lyric is having fun at school this week- today was show and tell- they had to take something that represents what you can do in the winter- so he took a hockey puck. He was so excited! He just loves to do things just like Jason-
Tomorrow morning is the mommy and me winter tea at his school- I get to go hang with my bub for a while as they perform for us moms. That will be so neat- I will take my camera.
Lyric has a little BFF at school- her name is Izzy and she is actually the daughter of a person I knew in high school. She is the cutest little girl- and you can tell that Lyric and Izzy just adore one another- so...we had a conversation with Lyric not too long ago about his friends at school. We asked who he considered to be good friends and he started listing all of these girls. Now, there is nothing wrong with him having all these girl-friends....they are only 4 you know. But, we did ask why he wasn't friends with some of the boys in his class- he then began to firmly tell us that boys are not friends with boys. So we said- Lyric- you are friends with Colin, right? He said, "NO!!!" Colin is a dude....He's my dude...we are dudes.
Totally cute.

Winding Down
After the boys had a bath they decided to play some games in Lyric's room. We are struggling to get back on schedule after the break- but we are hanging in there. Lane is usually down no later than 8:30 and Lyric is not far behind. I hope my posts will be more exciting in the coming weeks- I need to take pictures like I used to- we are just spread a little thin these days.
Here are some uneventful photos from last night....

Is it Winter?
It has been so wonderful to be able to play outside lately. Of course today there is a chance of freezing rain...but the past few days were so nice- Lyric had on a t-shirt and I had on capri pants!
Lyric took Lane for a ride in Lane's new tractor. We rode down to the little park in the neighborhood and played for a while. Lane is so big- he can slide down the slide all alone- and even land on his feet most tiimes. Lyric can do it all....but we already knew that!

Getting ready to go down the slide!

Lyric on the swing...remember whe he called it a fing? (fing fing)

Lyric taking a break for a quick pose

Headed back to the house....

Happy New Year!
We went to Tulsa to ring in the New Year with family, friends, and of cours, the Wii. The boys had a great time with their granny and pa and we had a blast, too. It was low key, safe, and jsut a great time.
