Fun in Tulsa

We went to Tulsa last weekend and spent time with family. We mainly went to support everyone through a pretty difficult situation regarding our beloved Uncle Billy and his declining health. It was awesoome to see everyone and to spend quality time together.
Friday night we just hung out- relaxed and laughed a lot. Saturday, Jason, Justin, and Pa went for a ride on their Harleys while I took the boys to the mall. All was fine until I tried to get Lane out of the "bus" and into the stroller to go home. He threw the biggest fit- no tears, just lots of screaming, kicking, and more screaming. He fell asleep before we got out of the mall parking lot!
Saturday evening we grilled burgers and hung out near the chiminea. Lyric rode his scooter up and down the sidewalk- both boys had a great time playing outside.
Sunday we had a nice brunch with my mom and a few friends from Tulsa....I didn't have my camera out for it, though- wish I did now.....
Enjoy the pics.....

Our stocks are safe......right?

We went to the homecoming parade on Wednesday- we had a great time in little downtown Edmond watching the band, athletes, cheerleaders, and other students go by. Jason rode his motorcycle in the parade, too.....
Homecoming for North was on Thursday- they lost by a fieldgoal.....oh well- 0 and 3 for the season. As for HH- we have not lost a game!
:)
We will be in T-town all weekend so there will be lots of photo ops and posting to come.

Rockabilly Posting?

So...on the blog, i have had more hits for the post "rockabilly wedding" than any other post I have made in the past year....so I have decided to title my posts with obscure titles in hopes that more people come to my blog and see what I have to say and share....the following pictures are just a couple of miscellaneous left over on my camera....

Lyric and Lane last week- getting ready to go to school

Isn't Lyric so cool with his shades in the rain!

Jason's Evan impression
We went to dinner with Julie and her mom to celebrate Julie's passing of the OK BAR exam...she is now an offical law upholder....so- if you have a need for legal representation- you should definately call her!

Retro-Activity

Jason built Lyric a fan tent the other night...both boys- uh I mean all 3 boys really enjoyed it. They read books, played with the Thomas lantern, and had a fun time.I know that Jason and Lyric already have plans to build a giant fan tent this weekend at Granny's......

The tent- took up Lyric's entire room....

Hairy

Lyric and I were on our way to school this week when he started a really odd conversation

L: I don't have hair on my "thingers" (fingers)- my dad has hair on his "thingers"

Me: Why does daddy have hair and you don't?

L: Because he's OLD....when you get old, that means you get hair on your "thingers"
I'm NEW- so I don't have hair on my thingers

Me: I don't have any hair on my fingers- what do you think that means?

L: You are NEW, too.

:)

So funny....

Art Museum

My friend Tiffany came into town last weekend and spent the night with us. She has a little boy (James) and he had a blast playing with Lyric and Lane. Saturday we just went to the little park in our neighborhood and grilled out some steaks. Sunday, we had some breakfast then headed to the OKC Muesum of Art for Family Fun Day. It was a great time. We started at the museum where the boys were able to create some "fresco" paintings- basically watercolors on plaster- Lane had so much fun painting- of course after about 10 minutes, he started trying to stick the paitbrush in his mouth- but we got a really beautiful creation out of him first. After the painting, we stepped outside for the "parade"- which consisted on 1 man in a gladiator costume on a horse. Not much of a parade- but we were able to meet up with Kyle and Colin while we were out there.
From the "parade" we went over to the library where we first watched a puppet show- supposedly a spin-off of Homer's Odessey- it was pretty good. From there we went to a sculpting class and then a mosaics class- the kids were so good and really liked participating in all the activities. Before we left the library, the boys had to have their faces painted- don't even ask me what Lyric was thinking....
We tried to view the exhibit at the museum- I was just not very comfortable looking at sculpture and atrifacts from 50 A.D. with a 4 year old skipping around and a 1 year old screaming (arched back and all) in a stroller- it seemed to take some of the magic and beauty from it. So...Jason and i are going back Friday to view the exhibit and spend some time on the roof. Should be great.

Football Game

We went to the HH-Casady game on Thursday- it was a great night- the weather was nice, the boys were minding, and the traffic wasn't awful. Once we bought a container of popcorn, Lyric and Lane were entertained for 30 minutes or so. Jason took the boys to an empty set of bleachers where they ran/crawled up and down up and down.
HH won the game and we had a nice family outing with no major meltdowns.
