Rockabilly Wedding
OK- we went to a wedding over the weekend- it was in a bowling alley and had a rockabilly theme- I know what you must be thinking- because I was thinking the same things before we got there- but it really was one of the coolest weddings I have ever been to. The facilities at Riverlanes in Tulsa are really awesome- very clean, new, and state of the art. The ceremony was on the lanes- it was very beautiful- and family-oriented. The reception was held in a private room- and a band played as the night went on- what a great time-

PF Chang's
To celerate the first day of school- we decided to have dinner at PF Chang's . We had a pretty decent time- Lane was good- up to the end- he had just had enough of that sitting still stuff. We took a few pictures of the evening....On the way home we stopped into Braums to get some milk and a little treat- Lane really likes ice cream- probably feels good on his gums since he has about 4 giant molars coming in at once.

Lyric's First Day of School
Lyric started full day pre-K on Wednesday. It is such a great school with really awesome teachers. When he arrives in the morning- he must answer a question of the day- then go to the yellow room to put his things away in his cubby. After that, the day is jam packed full of learning, games, and fun. His building is just down the sidewalk from my building- it is really great to have him so close- although we do not see each other during the day- we are both too busy. Here is a link to the school- we are so happy to be here.

Madi's Birthday
On 08-09-08 we went to Julie's for madison's 11th birthday party. The theme was a Luau- Julie rented a tropical bouncy thing- and the kids had a blast while expending their extra energy. Julie made chicken k-bobs which were so beautiful I had to take a picture of them. She also had a hula girl pinata- which was kind of funny to see kids hitting. Usually, a pinata is an animal, a basketball, or some other fake looking assembly of paper mache- but this was like hitting a little doll- a miniature hula person- it was filled with candy- so the kids didn't care what shape the pinata was, just as long as they could bust it open and reap the rewards.
After presents, there were cupcakes, and just good family fun.

told you the k-bobs were beautiful...

cupcakes- little unbrellas for decoration- I used a swill meringue buttercream for the icing- freaking delicious- just very labor intensive

Colin's Birthday
We celebrated Colin's 6th birthday on 08-08-08. It was his actual b-day! The party was in Guthrie at my parents' house where the kids played outside, colored at the craft table, played bingo, built cupcakes, and ate hot dogs. We had a good time- baby Lane on the other hand cried constantly from about 6:30 to 9 when we left. Man, that really can wear a person out! Nevertheless, the kids had a blast, and Colin got lots of cool presents....fun party!

Skiatook
We loaded up the boys and the boat and headed to Tulsa for a little fun in the sun. We went to Skiatook Lake with Jill and Mike- Jan, Granny, and Pa went with us, too. We had a great time although it was so hot- I think it got up to 106 that afternoon. Driving on the water usually gives you a break form the heat, but this day it was like driving in a hair dryer- on high heat....no cold blast button available. The water was really nice- even cool in some spots. We tubed a little and swam a little by the cliffs- it was a great day.
