On the Water Again

Two down and Eight to go to break even on our boat purchase......I figure we could rent a boat for 10 days for the price we paid for the "Money Pitt" so 10 outings and we're good.....We went to Thunderbird in Norman (or "dirtybird" as it is affectionately known)...It was a really nice lake- we will definitely go back. Good times.....

IKEA....seriously

Didn't know what an awesome store this is. We spent about 3 hours in the store in Round Rock on Tuesday. Man- it was great- except for the very unhappy baby Lane- he helped us keep our shopping to a minimum. After IKEA, we went to Whole Foods and bought a few cheeses and local foods. That evening we just hung out at Shannon's and let the kids run around and play. We had a great trip to Austin- and it is only 6 hours from Edmond....not too bad.

I really don't know what is going on here- just being silly....

Carey's dad came over for a bit- and Lane was completely attached to him- they had never met, but Lane sat still in his lap the whole time he was there....look at who he resembles ant that might explain it....white t-shirt, glasses, white hair....hmmm....could Lane be missin' his Pa? I think so!

Lyric c"cleaned" the floors all night with this vacuum- who knew he loved to clean so much!

Of course, baby brother has to copy him.....there's Abbey in the background....

Austin

We left for Austin at 8 Sunday morning and arrived at the outlet mall in Round Rock before 2. We stopped to shop for a while in RR then met up with Shannon and Carey for some dinner at their house. On Monday, we went to the University Co-Op then took a few pictures on campus. After that, we went to Whole Foods for lunch (no pictures from there- they don't allow cameras) then to a splash pad downtown. It is 7pm on Monday now and we are getting ready to go to the pool and play. I will take more pictures of that and update tomorrow....Hubby is in Vegas- really miss him......

Shannon and carey have twins- Porter and Abbey....they always like to stop and talk to other people with twins. We saw these strollers coming towards us and thought they were twins...but they weren't. They were CATS!!! These women were walking their CATS! wow...what's the slogan here? Oh Yeah..."Keep Austin Weird"...They are helping keep that slogan alive.

We Are Boaters!!!!!!!!

Instead of being house poor, we decided to stay put and "live a little" courtesy of G-Dub and his economic crash policies....it turned out to be pretty good for us. We purchased with our stimulus check a 1988 bayliner capri and decided to take it out on Arcadia Friday afternoon....I grew up on the lake so I had forgotten how much fun boating was.... So the money pit has now commenced. Next are new life jackets, tubes, skis, ropes, new vinyl, the list goes on and on.....It was fun though. (Jason's first post on the blog)

Fun Day

We went to lunch with nana at Subway and then ran some errands today. Lane was really difficult to contain at lunch- so we just put him in the booth next to ours and he had a blast. He was jumping up and down and yelling a lot- there weren't too many people there so it wasn't that disturbing for other patrons. We left there and went to get Lane som new shoes from Lynda's Birkenstock- my friend Jill's store- he got a couple of pair of Simple brand "green piggies"- made from post-consumer materials. After that, we went to the Asian Market and looked at the interesting grocery items- including lots of crabs, fish, and pig parts. When we got home, our Mccain't shirts arived, so we started worked on the website and some marketing strategies- plus dreamed big about all the money we are going to make.

Frontier City

We met up with my friend, Leslie at Frontier City on Monday. We had a great time- even the kids hung in there for quite a while. Lyric and Aiden rode lots of rides- lucky for you I captured most of the action with my camera. We got pretty hot around 2 in the afternoon and had to bail out- we will go back next week- maybe take Nana....
