We went to Evan's birthday party today. Lane is cutting anoter tooth while the first one is still trying to come the rest of the way out. He was very fussy today. Lyric stayed at Nana's last night- so he was pretty grumpy today from lack of sleep...and you know he does not nap on days he is with me- only at school during the week. Anyway- once we got over to Julie's for the party- everything was great. Lyric was polite as usual and baby Lane was the center of attention- drool and all. Nana bought Lyric a new shirt- it says "I do all my own stunts". It was very appropriate for the afternoon's activities.... Just a swingin' Happy Birthday, Evan! The boys during birthday present inspections OK- In this picture, you can see Lyric on the far right- standing on an electrical thing that is about 3 feet tall. Below him, you can see a pile of leaves.....what do you think that translates to when you add little boys to the equation? You guessed it, some serious air time...... Heres more air from a different angle Safe landing...
My friend Jennifer came over on Saturday with her husband and their son, Ian. Even though Ian is 7, he, Colin, and Lyric had a blast playing together. We grilled some burgers and hot dogs and watched a lot of football. The kids played so well all night long.....Ian, Lyric, and Colin performed a magic trick for us- Lyric was in the tunnel for hte tent- Ian would say the magic words and then make Lyric appear- it was really cute.
Uncle Kyle with baby Lane Where's Lyric? Abra Cadabra...here he is We made them pose again for a better shot.....
Once every week or so we try to have dinner with my grandparents. It is awesome to be so close and to have the opportunity to spend time with them. The last time we were together, Memaw (carol) read a few books to the boys, then we had a nice dinner. Here are a few pics of the evening.....
Priceless moments Yet again, priceless..... mom with the "boog"
Jason and Lyric went ice skating this evening. Baby Lane and I hung out on the sidelines and in the penalty box taking pictures and watching. Lyric did well for his first time- he wants to go again, so that is good!
Jason putting on Lyric's first ice skates.... Lyric showing off his first ice skates.... Rear view...too cute Some good father-son time
Lyric helped me make dinner tonight. What was the menu? Well- grilled cheese sandwiches and noodle soup...perfect for a chilly November evening. The kids are so sweet- time just goes by too fast.
Kyle and I are going to begin staining fences to make some holiday moolah....he came over and practiced on our fence today.....It looks really good- hopefully we will be able to make some fun money. The kids played all afternoon- Baby Lane is cutting teeth- so he has not been very happy for the past few days...it is true what they say- if baby isn't happy, ain't nobody happy....I would LOVE to get more than 3 hours of sleep at a time!! Kyle- you know, of the fence staining mafia Kids playing Baby lane playing with his feets.... Look! before and after- looks good, I think!
Halloween was a fun night. We went downtown Edmond where all the merchants were set up outside their shops to give candy to the little ghosts and goblins. There were firetrucks and firefighters along with police men on motorcycles set up in the middle of the street. There were alos inflatables and carnival games in the street for kids a grown ups to have some fun. After downtown, we came home and Jason took Lyric around the neighborhood. We finished trick or treating by 7:30. Big grins for Lyric from baby Lane Fun with dad Dad and Lyric- downtown Edmond Baby Lane and mommy in the snuggli Lyric the storm trooper with an Edmond motorcycle officer Trick or Treating It's MINE...all MINE!!!
