All is well
OK- the pneumonia thing was false....baby Lane had the flu all along. I need to send a comment card to Mercy hospital emergency room and let them know that their diagnosis was way off. Since they thought it was pneumonia, they gave him an antibiotic- one that is not good for ear infections. Lane was already on an antibiotic for an ear infection. The new antibiotic, which was prescribed to treat an illness that he did not have, caused his ears to get worse, and in turn, his eardrum ruptured. Maybe that was a blessing in disguise because next week we will be taking Lane to a specialist to consult about having tubes put in his ears.
So, back to sickness- since Lane had the flu, guess who also had the flu (just a few days later)...Yes! Lyric. So, Granny came into town and stayed at our house with 2 sick kids from Monday night 'till Thursday afternoon. The fun didn't stop with the 2 young boys having the flu....Jason caught some nasty digestive bug that caused him to spend most of his night on Tuesday in the bathroom- alternating ends if you know what I mean...
Goodness Gracious- at least it all happened the week before Christmas, and not the week of christmas....

P.U.
Well- baby lane has pneumonia...there is still ice on the ground- still lots of people without power- and snow will be here in a few hours. Otherwise, things are going great. I gave baby a bath in teh kitchen sink today- he is doing much better than yesterday. We spent all morning in the E.R. and came home after a few x-rays and iv fluids. His fever spiked at 106...he is doing fine now- antibiotics, motrin, and tylenol have taken his fever away and helped to revive a little of his wonderful spirit.
I will post a few pictures later-

And He's Off....
Well. Baby Lane is officially crawling. Of course he is always headed straight for the Christmas tree. I can't remember when Lyric started to be this mobile- but I am pretty sure it wasn't this early. I think Lane is just anxious to start playing with his brother and cousin! He has his 3rd ear infection right now- plus what looks to be a case of RSV. So, along with the ice storm things have been a little difficult around here. We have had 2 snow days (no shcool) but I am sure we will go back tomorrow. I need to do lots of shopping still- there will be time for that soon, right? Pictures of the soiree will be here soon- I did not take 1 picture with my camera, but my mom did- so I will get them from her and post them soon.....

Not in MY House
Yeah- that's what jason and I used to say about video games...until my brother brought over Rock Band...now I have an idea on what to get jason for Christmas! It's like hot mic night with instruments....I still prefer the original hot mic- but we did get some pretty good pictures out of it.

Winter Glow
The University of Central OK in Edmond hosted "Winter Glow" last week. It was a large event where college students set up different stations for families to jump start their holiday spirit. We were a little early- but that was nice because we were able to miss all the long lines. We roasted marshmallows, had hot chocolate and cookies, made a craft, took pictures with Santa, and rode in a horse-drawn carriage. It was a really great family evening.

Thanksgiving
Wow! It has been a long time since my last post. Here are a few pictures from the Thanksgiving holiday. We had such a great time in Tulsa- seeing friends and family. Justin was here from Colorado- just before his 4th deployment to Iraq. It was a wonderful holiday- not a great weekend for my football teams- but the food, friends, and fellowship was awesome. Enjoy a few pictures:

Stuntman
We went to Evan's birthday party today. Lane is cutting anoter tooth while the first one is still trying to come the rest of the way out. He was very fussy today. Lyric stayed at Nana's last night- so he was pretty grumpy today from lack of sleep...and you know he does not nap on days he is with me- only at school during the week. Anyway- once we got over to Julie's for the party- everything was great. Lyric was polite as usual and baby Lane was the center of attention- drool and all. Nana bought Lyric a new shirt- it says "I do all my own stunts". It was very appropriate for the afternoon's activities....

Happy Birthday, Evan!

The boys during birthday present inspections

OK- In this picture, you can see Lyric on the far right- standing on an electrical thing that is about 3 feet tall. Below him, you can see a pile of leaves.....what do you think that translates to when you add little boys to the equation?

You guessed it, some serious air time......

Heres more air from a different angle

Safe landing...

Play date
My friend Jennifer came over on Saturday with her husband and their son, Ian. Even though Ian is 7, he, Colin, and Lyric had a blast playing together. We grilled some burgers and hot dogs and watched a lot of football. The kids played so well all night long.....Ian, Lyric, and Colin performed a magic trick for us- Lyric was in the tunnel for hte tent- Ian would say the magic words and then make Lyric appear- it was really cute.

Dinner with G-Daddy and Memaw
Once every week or so we try to have dinner with my grandparents. It is awesome to be so close and to have the opportunity to spend time with them. The last time we were together, Memaw (carol) read a few books to the boys, then we had a nice dinner. Here are a few pics of the evening.....

Ice Skating
Jason and Lyric went ice skating this evening. Baby Lane and I hung out on the sidelines and in the penalty box taking pictures and watching. Lyric did well for his first time- he wants to go again, so that is good!
